On Monday, August 9th, a Rainbow Halo was installed in Emily Shane’s memory on what would have been her 25th birthday. The Rainbow Halo is an art installation to commemorate and bring attention to people who have been needlessly killed through road tragedies. Rainbow Halo installations are a project of the City of Los Angeles’s Department of Transportation. Click here to learn more about the Rainbow Halo Project.
This installation took place at “The Fig Ranch at Sterling Farms” in Malibu, adjacent to where Emily was tragically struck and killed. A special thanks to the City of Malibu who was instrumental in coordinating the installation, and to the management of the farm who graciously offered their property for the gathering.
The Rainbow Halo now stands permanently along the Pacific Coast Highway, memorializing Emily’s life and encouraging safe driving. Thanks to everyone who joined us for this significant event!
